Scott Hayward

Scott Hayward

Chief Executive Officer

Mr. Hayward is the Chief Executive Officer of GMO, a member of the GMO Board of Directors and a partner of the firm. Prior to joining GMO in 2017, he served as the Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of Quantitative Management Associates LLC (QMA) for 11 years. Previously, he was the Head of Client Relations at QMA and Jennison Associates (both affiliates of Prudential Financial, Inc.). Prior to joining QMA and Jennison Associates in 2003, Mr. Hayward served as Managing Director, Head of Institutional Client Services and Marketing at J.P. Morgan Asset Management. Prior to that, he was a Vice President and served in a variety of roles in the investment bank, private bank, and corporate divisions at J.P. Morgan & Co. Mr. Hayward earned his bachelor's degree in Political Science from Boston College.

Jeremy Grantham

Jeremy Grantham

Long-Term Investment Strategist, Co-Founder

Mr. Grantham co-founded GMO in 1977 and is a member of GMO’s Asset Allocation team, serving as the firm’s long-term investment strategist. He is the Chairman of the GMO Board of Directors, a partner of the firm, and has also served on the investment boards of several non-profit organizations. Prior to GMO’s founding, Mr. Grantham was co-founder of Batterymarch Financial Management in 1969 where he recommended commercial indexing in 1971, one of several claims to being first. He began his investment career as an economist with Royal Dutch Shell. Mr. Grantham earned his undergraduate degree from the University of Sheffield (U.K.) and an MBA from Harvard Business School. He is a member of the Academy of Arts and Sciences, holds a CBE from the UK and is a recipient of the Carnegie Medal for Philanthropy.

Alex Bark

Alex Bark

Head of Global Client Relations

Mr. Bark is the head of GMO’s Global Client Relations team and a partner of the firm. Previously at GMO, he led the client relations teams outside the U.S. from London. Prior to joining GMO in 2010, he spent eight years at Goldman Sachs Asset Management after an early career serving in the Royal Navy. Mr. Bark earned his BSc in Economics and Politics from the University of Bristol. He is a CFA charterholder and is CFA certified in ESG Investing.

Henriksson_Roy

Roy Henriksson

Head of Investment Risk and Trading

Dr. Henriksson is the Head of Investment Risk and Trading at GMO and a partner of the firm. He has decades of experience combining quantitative research with its practical applications within investment portfolios across a wide range of equity, fixed income, and multi-asset strategies. Prior to joining GMO, Dr. Henriksson served as Chief Investment Officer (CIO) of QMA, where he oversaw all dimensions of QMA’s investment strategies. Prior to that, he was the CIO of Advanced Portfolio Management, where he designed and managed customized, risk-targeted investment portfolios for institutional clients across the globe. Previously, he also held a variety of senior positions in investments, risk management, research, trading, and product development at a number of large investment banks. He also has served as the Co-Chairman of the Liquidity Risk Committee and as a member of the advisory board of the International Association for Quantitative Finance. Dr. Henriksson is a recipient of the Graham and Dodd Award from The Financial Analysts Journal and previously was a Professor of Finance at the University of California, Berkeley. He has also served as a Senior Consultant to Wells Fargo Investment Advisors and as an Advisor to the University of California Endowment. He earned his BS in Economics, MS in Management, and PhD in Finance from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.

Ben Inker

Co-Head of Asset Allocation, Portfolio Manager

Mr. Inker is Co-Head of GMO’s Asset Allocation team and a portfolio manager for the team’s products. Mr. Inker is a member of the GMO Board of Directors and a partner of the firm. He joined GMO in 1992 following the completion of his bachelor's degree in Economics from Yale University. In his years at GMO, Mr. Inker has served as an analyst for the Quantitative Equity and Asset Allocation teams, as a portfolio manager of several equity and asset allocation portfolios, as Co-Head of International Quantitative Equities, and as CIO of Quantitative Developed Equities. He is a CFA charterholder.

Andy Martin

Head of Investment Product Strategy

Mr. Martin is the Head of Investment Product Strategy at GMO and a partner of the firm. Previously at GMO, he was the Head of Investment Teams, overseeing the firm’s equity, fixed income, and alternatives teams. Prior to joining GMO in 2017, he worked at Cambridge Associates for more than 10 years, most recently as Head of Global Hedge Fund Research and Managing Director in the Non-Profit Practice. Andy has also held leadership roles within equity research at Credit Suisse First Boston and Donaldson, Lufkin, & Jenrette, Inc. Mr. Martin earned his bachelor's degree in International Studies and Political Science from Yale University and his MBA from the Amos Tuck School of Business Administration at Dartmouth College.

Greg Pottle

Chief Compliance Officer

Mr. Pottle is GMO’s Chief Compliance Officer and a partner of the firm. Previously at GMO, he has served as General Counsel on an interim basis and as legal counsel. Prior to joining GMO in 2000, he was a manager in the SEC registration group of Scudder Kemper Investments. Previously he was a legal product manager with Fidelity Investments. Mr. Pottle earned his bachelor's degree in Political Science from Hobart College and his JD from Suffolk University.

Sakoulis_George

George Sakoulis

Head of Investment Teams, Head of Systematic Equity, Portfolio Manager

Dr. Sakoulis is the Head of Investment Teams at GMO, Head of GMO's Systematic Equity team, and a portfolio manager for GMO’s Systematic Equity products. Dr. Sakoulis is a partner of the firm. He previously worked at GMO from 2009 to 2014 leading quantitative research for GMO’s Emerging Markets Equity team. Prior to rejoining GMO in 2020, he was most recently a Managing Director and Head of Global Multi-Asset Solutions for QMA, where he focused on systematic total and absolute return investment solutions. Before that, he led QMA’s Global Portfolio Solutions group. Previously, Dr. Sakoulis also served as the Director of European Equity Strategies for Numeric Investors and as a Director for UBS O’Connor. He earned his bachelor's degree in Economics and Statistics from San Francisco State University and his MA in Economics and PhD in Financial Econometrics from the University of Washington.

Dina Santoro

Chief Operating Officer

Ms. Santoro is GMO’s Chief Operating Officer. Prior to joining GMO in 2023, she was COO of Voya Investment Management, where she was responsible for the firm’s strategic operational model, led functions including operations, technology, product, marketing, client service, and data analytics, and served as President and CEO of Voya Funds as well as on Voya IM’s Executive Leadership Team. Before becoming COO, she was Senior Managing Director and Head of Product and Marketing. Prior to her time at Voya IM, Ms. Santoro held several leadership positions at PGIM Quantitative Solutions (formerly, QMA) in product strategy, distribution, marketing, client service, and product development, in addition to serving as Head of Marketing for Jennison Associates. Previously, she also worked in client service, marketing, and product specialist roles at JP Morgan. Ms. Santoro earned her bachelor’s degree from Boston College and her MBA from Columbia University. 

Socher_Hylton

Hylton Socher

Chief Technology Officer

Mr. Socher is GMO’s Chief Technology Officer. He has more than thirty years’ experience building and leading technology organizations for global financial firms. He also currently serves on the Board of LayerOne Financial, which offers a cross-asset class investment management platform. Immediately prior to joining GMO, he was the Chief Technology Officer of VaraQuest, a firm he founded focused on using machine learning to construct and manage investment portfolios. Previously, Mr. Socher held Chief Information and Technology Officer positions at Fortress Investment Group, Amaranth Group, and Susquehanna International Group. Prior to that, he led the technology effort for the Capital Markets Group at NationsBank Capital Markets. Mr. Socher earned his BEconSci in Computer Science and Econometrics and BSc Hons in Computer Science with a focus on Artificial Intelligence from the University of the Witwatersrand, and his MBA in International Finance from Stern School of Business at New York University.

Zachos_Phil

Phil Zachos

General Counsel

Mr. Zachos is GMO’s General Counsel. Previously at GMO, he has served as Legal Counsel and Company Secretary, Chairman of the GMO UK Board, and Chief Counsel for GMO Renewable Resources. Prior to joining GMO in 2007, he was an associate in the business law department at Goodwin Procter LLP. Mr. Zachos earned his bachelor's degree in Political Science from Hartwick College and his JD from Boston College.

Zimmerman_Nicole

Nicole Zimmerman

Head of Human Resources

Ms. Zimmerman is the Head of Human Resources at GMO and oversees the Facilities function. She is a partner of the firm. Prior to joining GMO in 2013, she held numerous HR positions including most recently as Managing Director at BNY Mellon Asset Management. Ms. Zimmerman has over 25 years of HR experience leading people-related strategy and building diverse, high-functioning teams at dynamic organizations within the asset management and technology industries. She earned her bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Bentley College.
